Guacamole is more than just a delicious dip — it’s a hormone-balancing powerhouse.

Avocados are rich in healthy fats that support hormone production, while red onion and tomatoes bring antioxidants to the table. This version is simple, nourishing, and full of flavour.

Serves 3.

Ingredients:
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • A handful of cherry tomatoes, halved and thinly sliced
  • ½ red onion, finely diced
  • Drizzle of olive oil (for healthy fats)
  • Drizzle of honey (for a touch of sweetness + blood sugar balance)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • Sprinkle of chilli flakes (optional, but great for a little heat + circulation)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander
  • Optional: A spoonful of cottage cheese or Greek yoghurt for creaminess and added protein

Method:
  1. Scoop the avocados into a bowl and mash to your desired consistency.
  2. Add the tomatoes, red onion, olive oil, honey, lime juice, and season with salt, pepper, and chilli flakes.
  3. Mix well and taste — adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Stir in coriander if using. For extra protein, mix in Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese.
  5. Serve immediately with oatcakes, seeded crackers, or on top of toast.

Why it’s good for your hormones

Each serving of this guac provides over 10 grams of fibre — that’s huge for your hormonal health.

Fibre helps your body:
  • Eliminate excess oestrogen
  • Support stable blood sugar
  • Keep your gut microbiome happy (which is closely tied to hormone balance)

Plus, avocados are loaded with:
  • Monounsaturated fats (to support hormone production)
  • Potassium (great for reducing PMS-related bloating)
  • Folate and vitamin E (to boost mood, skin, and cell health)

When to eat it in your cycle

This guac is perfect for your luteal phase (the week before your period).

During this time, your body naturally craves more healthy fats and nutrients that support:
  • Mood balance
  • Progesterone production
  • Soothing inflammation

Eat it as a snack, a side, or a spread — your hormones will thank you.
