I just entered my luteal phase and I wanted to share some things I am going to be doing to prepare myself for my period. As your body transitions into the this phase, it’s time to slow down and nurture yourself therefore I am going to be prioritising rest by swapping my HIIT workouts and runs for lighter weight strength training, yoga and pilates. This is when progesterone rises, energy dips, and your body craves comfort & balance so I am going to be stocking up on lots complex cards such as sweet potatoes and chickpeas to curb those cravings. Instead of pushing through, I’m leaning into gentle self-care to support your mood, hormones, and well-being, to do this I love running a hot bubble bath before bed with a herbal tea and some dark choccy.
💆♀️ Simple self-care acts for your luteal phase:
🌿 Prioritise rest – Swap intense workouts for walks, yoga, or stretching.
🥑 Nourish your body – Focus on warm, grounding foods like soups, sweet potatoes & dark chocolate.
📓 Check in with yourself – Journal, reflect, or set boundaries to protect your energy.
🛁 Create a cozy routine – Herbal teas, warm baths, and early nights = luteal phase magic. ✨
🤍 Say no without guilt – Honour your needs & give yourself permission to slow down.
Your body is preparing for a shift—listen to it, honour it, and give yourself grace. What’s your go-to luteal phase self-care ritual? Share below! ⬇️✨
